Garrett Bowdle, PT, DPT, OCS
Born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee, Garrett is now the owner and clinical coordinator of Body Mechanics. He brings a deep passion for using physical therapy as a tool to strengthen community, restore movement, and help people return to their best life and performance.. He earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, where he served as a Tennessee Core Ambassador for the American Physical Therapy Association. Following graduation, he completed an orthopedic residency through the Institute of Health Professions in partnership with Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, earning his Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS) designation. His experience working with collegiate athletes and neurologic populations informs his ability to care for high school athletes and active individuals of all levels. His clinical focus includes advanced orthopedic care, movement and neuromuscular retraining, winter sports injuries, chronic pain, TMJ dysfunction, post-operative rehabilitation, and a particular interest in foot and ankle mechanics and evidence-based footwear guidance.
In addition to his orthopedic expertise, Garrett is a certified run coach and a Level 2 Gait Analyst through RUN-DNA, blending detailed biomechanical analysis with individualized training and performance strategies. As an avid runner, he has completed numerous marathons and endurance mountain events and understands firsthand the demands of long-term durability in the mountains.
Outside of the clinic, Garrett is a devoted Tennessee Volunteers fan and proudly embraces his Southern roots. He enjoys trail running, skiing, fly fishing, photography, reading, traveling, and great food, and remains deeply committed to service work through ongoing volunteer efforts at the Jungle Hospital in rural Honduras.
